New Years Resolutions Recap

On the 1st January 2012 I set out 6 goals for the new year. As its been a month I thought I would review how January has gone, and look forward to what I can acheive in February!

1. Learn to crochet and crochet some Christmas Decorations for next year
I started to practice crochet but I'm not going to lie, I didn't get very far. I made a chain but could not for the life of my work into it! I need to find a new book/guide to help me in my crochet effort! (any recommendations would be very much appreciated!)

2. Run 6 miles (my furthest at the moment is 3.94)
This month I was getting back into running after being ill over Christmas and exam period. My furthest run this month was 3.26 miles. My aim is to have run two runs in February of 4 miles in distance!

3. Read 25 books
Photos from Amazon
Here I am doing well! Three books completed already! With the receipt of my Kindle for Christmas I am loving reading once more and as soon as I finish a book I am straight onto the next one! I am also taking advantage of Amazon's Daily Deal where they offer a kindle book everyday for 99p! My favourite book of the month was 'Rosie's War: An Englishwoman's Escape from Occupied France'. I have always enjoyed history, particularly that surrounding WW1 and WW2 and this book gave me a perspective of WW2 I had never considered before! It was a frank account of an Englishwoman's trapped in France as an enemy alien.

4. Cook a new recipe every week (52 in the year) including at least 25 from different countries (we had a delicious Chinese meal to celebrate New Years Eve and I'm feeling inspired!)
Again, this resolution has gone very well this month! I have completed 5 new recipes from 4 different countries!

Mushroom Pasta
Chinese Prawns
Macarons from France

Zucchini Parmesan from Italy
Gyros from Greece

5. Continue to develop this blog - more posts, series and ideas!

I have posted 15 posts this month including 2 brand new tutorials! I have gained followers (thanks you guys!) and given my blog the face lift that it deserved! I will continue to post and attend linky parties in February as I am having so much fun in the blog world!
