Safety Pin Charm Bracelet Tutorial

I thought I would share with you a project I put together last summer when I was playing around with the contents of my jewellery box. To explain, for Christmas when I was 17, my Nana gave me a beautiful locket that I wear everyday. This has meant that all of my other necklaces never get worn anymore! I don't mind because I love the locket but it made me think about what I could do with the random charms left unworn in my jewellery box! They all have some sentimental value so it would be nice to find a way to still wear them! Enter the safety pin charm bracelet!

Materials
Safety pins (I used 10 - the number will depend on the size of your wrist)
Assorted charms (I used 5 as that was how many I had!)
One clasp

Instructions

1. Attach your charms to the safety pins - I added just one per pin but you can experiment!
2. Join the safety pins together in a chain
3. Attach a clasp to the end safety pin
4. That's it! You are done and ready to wear your charms!

Blogger wasn't coping well with individual pictures of all my charms so here they are in a collage below...

All of these charms have memories attached and its great that I can wear them again! I bought the paw print in Ottawa (one of my favourite places!) and the Hippo in Zanzibar. The pixie is from Cornwall, the pink gem was a gift from my Canadian presents and the teddy bear from my Grandparents (I think - that one is so old I cannot really remember!). Well there you have it! A quick and easy way to give those old charms a new lease of life!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

Love Rebecca

P.S. I am so happy...my sewing machine arrived yesterday fully functional! Already completed one project, looking forward to some more sewing!
