Where is the Love?

I have been staring at this screen for the last half an hour trying to write this post.

Waking up on Saturday morning to the news of the devastating shooting in Connecticut really shook me. I run a Rainbows unit of young girls aged 5 and 6, and it is horrendous to think that children of their age were victims in this shooting. I cannot begin to comprehend what the families of the children and teachers of Sandy Hook must be going through right now, and all I can say is that they are in my thoughts, as I am sure they are in the thoughts of many people around the world.

When something horrific like this happens in the world, it can be hard to comprehend, to understand how a human being could be capable of such a thing. What kind of a world do we live in where this could happen?

I had to remind myself that there is so much love in the world, that the hate or anger that motivates attacks like this is rare in comparison to the love that can be seen - this is a collection of photos that do a little bit to restore our faith in humanity. And this also reminds me of the opening sequence of 'Love Actually', which remind us that Love Actually is all around.

 I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to those affected by this tragedy, and I know that the community in Newtown will rally together to support each other in this difficult time.

Monday Morning Video - Christmas Movies

Don't you just love this time of year? 

I am feeling very festive and am looking forward to watching my favourite Christmas movies...

1. Miracle on 34th Street - a classic film that I could watch every year! (P.S. I believe!)

2. White Christmas - THE ultimate Christmas film! This film is packed with brilliant songs perfect for a festive  evening by the fire! This film will never get old!

3. Nativity - what could be better than this feel good flick about a British primary school's nativity performance - the songs are hilarious and the kids are adorable!

Monday Morning Video - Ellen's Dance Dares

So after I had caught up on my usual programmes yesterday, I turned to youtube and caught up on Ellen clips. I LOVE Ellen! So much! I am so gutted that I can't get her whole shows as they air but I am definitely on the wrong continent for that! So I have to settle for catching her clips on youtube!

Ellen never fails to make me laugh out loud and the new thing that I am loving right now is her Dance Dares. Have you see these?

 Basically the idea is to go up behind someone and dance, without them realising! Even though I am not a big dancer I think that this would be so much fun - I just know I wouldn't have the courage to do it! I think I would concentrate too much on the dancing and forget about the person so they would spot me! Here is my favourite video so far...

Monday Morning Video - Christmas Giving

I am in full festive mode at the moment - making presents, baking Christmas goodies and listening to some Christmas tunes!

I absolutely loved this advert that was on TV last Christmas - I love the giving part of Christmas and am very much looking forward to starting my Christmas shopping on Friday!

Monday Morning Video - All I've Ever Needed

So I added the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Official soundtrack to my collection last week and I am totally smitten with this song!

I am a complete sucker when it comes to things like this! I love the amount of love that is in this song - and it has jumped to one of the most played on my ipod!

The video makes me love it even more! 

I am also SO excited that I am going to see Breaking Dawn on Wednesday - 2 more days! I was so tempted to see it over the weekend but I spent hours in the library instead! It'll be worth it in the end though (said through gritted teeth!).

I had to settle for watched Breaking Dawn part 1. Again. And the extra features.

 I so nearly broke out all the other films but I showed an ounce of restraint!

I am also excited that I have started making some Christmas presents and bits this weekend.

Monday Morning Video - I Won't Give Up

Good Morning! Hopefully you all had a good weekend and are ready for the new week! I have had a stressful couple of days with uni work and other bits and pieces, hoping that this week will be easier!

Good Morning! And Happy Monday to you!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are ready for this week!

I am very excited because Saturday is my birthday and my parents are coming up to take me somewhere for a surprise. Seriously I have no idea where we are going and am very excited to find out!

But before that happens I must finish all my university work, go to a Halloween social and have my birthday with friends on Friday! 

Last week when I was supposed to be working taking a break from reading I came across this video which made me smile. There are some seriously talented dancers here!

Monday Morning Video - 5 Men 1 Guitar

Good Morning! How are you today? Ready to face another week?

I am in for a good week this week, albeit very busy! I am heading home on Thursday, which means that all of my University work needs to be done before then!

On Friday, my Mum and I are off to the Malvern Quilt show to pick up some new fabric and then over the weekend I am doing some autumnal things with my parents.

I am really looking forward to going home for a bit, can't quite believe I have been up in York for a month already!

Still, much to do first - both my housemates have birthdays this week so that is very exciting!

Monday Morning Video - It Doesn't Count If...

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are ready for a new week!

Mine is going to be exceptionally busy this week as it is the first week of seminars and meetings at University! I am also going to be getting to grips with my final project and literature survey that I have to write. That's on top of volunteering, blogging and seeing family! Blimey!

Have you seen this yet? I absolutely love it for so many reasons -  as soon as I saw it I was texting all my friends telling them to watch it! I absolutely love the music that backs the video as well as the actual video!
