Sausage and Apple Tart
With revision ongoing (sorry I mention it in every post but this is my life on the moment...until Friday that is.... just 3 days to go!). Anyway, with revision tiring me out, I chose a simple dish for my new recipe this week. It isn't from any particular country but happened to use mostly ingredients I had in and needed to use up! This tart is simple and very yummy! I would definitely make it again! It requires very little effort and the result is impressive!

Sausage and Apple Tart
adapted from bbcgoodfood.com
Serves 1
125g puff pastry
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 sausage
1/2 red onion, sliced
1/2 large or 1 small red eating apple, sliced
1. Roll out pastry on a floured surface until you have a rectangle as thick as a pound coin
2. Score a border about 1-2cm from the edge (keep outer edge clear of all toppings)
3. Spread the middle with mustard
4. Chop sausage into chunks (about 5) and scatter over middle of pastry
5. Toss onion and apple with a little oil then scatter over sausages
6. Bake at 180C for 20 minutes until the pastry is golden and puffed and the apple/onion have begun to brown
7. Serve with a fresh salad (I dressed mine with Balsamic dressing -1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar, 1 1/2 tsp olive oil)
8. Enjoy!
